Germs of Perfection

In commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the existence of Bad Religion, Germs of Perfection is available for free download. Germs of Perfection is a Bad Religion tribute record featuring an impressive line up. You will be stoked to see the likes of Polar Bear Club, Frank Turner, Riverboat Gamblers and Guttermouth on the record. Don't forget to catch Bad Religion as they roll through your town on the last leg of their tour. We just caught them last week in Albuquerque and did not leave disappointed by any means.

Download Germs of Perfection at http://www.myspace.com/badreligion while you still can.

The Lonely Forest - The Lonely Forest EP

In anticipation for their upcoming album, a review of the EP from the first signees to Chris Walla’s (of Death Cab) new Atlantic Records imprint, Trans. Buy it at http://www.thelonelyforest.com/.

The Lonely Forest’s preview EP, released September 14th of this year, is an REM-inspired collection of rock ballads in a vein similar to mentors Death Cab for Cutie.  While the similarities are obvious,  the distinctions make The Lonely Forest uniquely enjoyable.  From an opener that insists you “turn off this song,” the lively mood of the EP is set.  I can’t turn it off. This is by far my favorite song on the EP, and lucky for me, they just released their very first video, and it’s for “Turn Off This Song and Go Outside”. You can check it out over at MTVmusic.com.

After a short, slower interlude song, their usual enthusiasm is back with “Live There”, the first single released from the group after they signed with Trans.  Definitely a good piece, but I’ll let you check it out yourself with a free download here.

Finally, before the EP closes with an acoustic version of “Turn Off This Song”, we get one last treat from the Anacortes, WA natives.

Seriously, check it out.  And keep an eye out for the upcoming album, Arrows, next spring sometime.  In the meantime they may be coming to your town; they’re out on tour with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin through the beginning of December.

Three Reasons the Gay Blades are Awesome

1. We loved Ghosts.
2. They just put out a new album, Savages, and you can download the first single free here.
3. They're headed out on tour to share their awesome with you. Check out their Myspace for dates.
